What people order

Matching pairs are the obvious place to start: his-and-hers mugs, couple watches, matching keychains and cushion sets. Both halves carry the same design with the two names, and they arrive together.

Wedding and nikkah keepsakes — thumbprint plaques where the two prints form a heart or an arch, engraved wooden family name signs with the established date, and framed photo pieces for the walima or the reception table.

Name jewellery in English and Urdu Nastaliq — pendants, bracelets and rings carrying a partner's name, gold or silver plated.

LED photo lamps and acrylic frames that light a couple's photograph from inside the acrylic. These are the anniversary gift that gets sent most often.

Anniversaries, engagements and nikkah

Most of this collection is ordered for anniversaries, engagements, nikkah, walima and Valentine's Day. If you are buying for a wedding you are attending rather than your own, the safest choices are the engraved wooden name signs and the framed pieces — they work regardless of the couple's taste in the way a mug does not.

Getting the names right

Two names and a date is exactly the kind of thing that goes wrong, and it is permanent once engraved. Send the spellings exactly as they should appear — Urdu especially, where one character changes the word — and read the proof we send back carefully before approving it. Nothing is cut, printed or engraved until you say yes.
